Ian Webster has been a clay artist since 1981. He specialises in hand built work using coil and slab techniques. He lives and works in beautiful Kuaotuna on the east coast of the Coromandel Peninsula. This stunning environment of the beach and beautiful native bush inspire Ian’s work.

His work has been accepted in numerous exhibitions throughout New Zealand and Australia and he has won many prestigious awards over the years.

“I have been working with clay for over 35 years developing my own methods and style. I use hand built techniques to create a large range of shapes which are functional as well as beautiful. My sculptural forms continue to evolve with figurative work taking on a more surreal appearance.”
